I had a bad day

file0002110782787

Saturday was…. well…it was a bad one. I did not make my goal, not even close. Instead of the 1,667 words, I actually wrote 702 words. After writing, I always check my number of words on site with the word counter. When I did, I think I broke it.

On Sunday after finishing my goal for the day, back to the NaNoWriMo to update my new word count. It looked as though my over all total was just 702 words!

Anyway, I have been keeping a good word count daily. My stats look messed up and it may appear that I have written everything in one day but this has been a daily work out.

Day 1 – 2107
Day 2 – 1509
Day 3 – 1466
Day 4 – 1828
Day 5 –  702
Day 6 – 1547
Day 7 – 1917

It’s all good! I’m still writing. The words are there saved and my count is good. I could not be happier and more proud of what it is that I am doing even if what I am doing does not make one bit of sense to anyone else! I am thrilled! Absolutely, positively, freaking amazingly, wonderfully joyfully, thrilled!

“Bad Day” Lyrics:

Where is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to grey
They tell me your passion’s gone away
And I don’t need no carryin’ on

You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You’re faking a smile with the coffee to go
You tell me your life’s been way off line
You’re falling to pieces everytime
And I don’t need no carryin’ on

Cause you had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don’t lie
You’re coming back down and you really don’t mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Well you need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don’t need no carryin’ on

You had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don’t lie
You’re coming back down and you really don’t mind
You had a bad day

(Oh.. Holiday..)

Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
And I’m not wrong

So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost

Cause you had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You’ve seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day

NaNoWriMo WiPW!

Clockwork Clouds

Authors! It’s November! And that means…

nanowrimo

I’m hijacking today’s Work in Progress Wednesday, because what is more ‘in progress‘ right now than NaNoWriMo?! Although we’re only on Day Two, hopefully your stories are unraveling in some inspiring ways. I wanted to take this opportunity to extend my offer once more.

Would you like to be featured on WiPW?

It’s an offer I’ve made before, and something I will continue to keep running on my blog (You can see it at the top of my page, in fact!), mainly because I love hearing people’s ideas and the think we all function better when we share our advice. Nothing gets me more excited to write something of my own, as when I see something awesome that someone else has produced. I put down books, leave films, finish games, feeling positively buzzed. So I…

Bludgeon One-Word Prompt

Astugsna is a world of creatures that have been bludgeoned into their existence by Windsor, though they do not see their lives as manipulated. Each personality, desire, need and strength is designed for the success of his world. There are no words such as morally, wrong, bad, immoral or wicked. What might be seen as harm is truly a matter of defense and necessity. Windsor did not create an alternative, it is a singular plan.  What would appear as malevolent behavior would have to be defined as something else. The people of Astugsna do not know vindictiveness or revenge. They breathe, they eat, they survive in the only world they know, with the only things they know, in the darkness. Windsor did over look something. As the world evolves so do the beings living there. Something is born and developed even if ever so subtly. It is emotion.

The time to write is here #NaNoWriMo

It is finally here and I am relieved.

No, I am anxious and nervous.

Well, all month of October, I was gearing up for this day with high expectations of sharing that I am absolutely writing a novel! That feels like huge news! Now that the day is actually here I am thinking, what if I tell everyone I am writing a novel then half way into November something horrible happens and I don’t actually write a novel.

The worse thing that can happen to me now is that I give up on myself. What I want to gain from this month of writing more than anything else is the discipline to write.  If I write everyday then it is working. It does not matter what I am writing, it matters that I am writing. That excites me! I can do that!

Today, I wrote 2,107 words. That also excites me!

I Want To Write A Novel In November!

What is NaNoWriMo?

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing.

On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.

Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel.

Find out more at http://nanowrimo.org/

It is a thrilling thought and I have been getting ready to go!

I’m Shedhippie at NaNoWriMo 2016. If you would like to be writing buddies, look me up.

Life is always presenting one thing or another that easily distracts me from my goal of getting this story out of my head. Kaida is a character that has been chiseled in my mind for over a decade. It has become more than frustrating that I have not finished writing this story.

Everything is in a process mode right now. Nothing is ready. I had to have something to give me inspiration so I made the cover and have put together a synopsis. As I said, everything needs lots of work.

kaidabookcover

Kaida’s world is Astugsna that hovers over Earth and the size of the Northern hemisphere. It is a world created in and of darkness. Windsor is the essence and the beginning of all things. Playfully, Windsor allows chaos. Dragons once ruled and owned the humans. With war and in a turn of events, humans became the keepers of the dragons. Zyte is human and Astugsna’s ruler with a vision of what their world could be. Zyte rises above the chaos to bring peace. Ellanesse, a shape-shifting dragon and close confidant to Zyte, is the father of Kaida. Kaida is born half dragon, half human and unable to switch. Forced to be both species Kaida adapts and discovers strengths. Windsor wants to destroy Kaida for everything she is and for everything she might become, until he sees her.

Ok, now that I have something put together, I am ready! Wish me luck, I desperately need it!
