Screen Haiku Alliteration Day 1

Screen Haiku

The screen door slams shut.
Looking through, to autumn ground.
Winter is close by.

Goodbyes can be sad.
Dramatic goodbyes are bad.
When screen doors slam shut.

Quiet snowy days
are what I crave, when she’s mad.
The screen door slams shut.

Enchanted Winds

The wind rides to reside in time,
as yesterday’s dust is dawning,
with droplets of color from the sky,
as the covering clouds cry
wetting worries and wrongs away,
giving life its light,
lingering here, listening
as whispers wet waiting mouths
with kisses that keep enchanting.

First writing assignment for Writing 201 Poetry

“Today, write a poem about/against/in homage to the screens in your life. If gadgets of all types leave you uninspired, write about some other kind of screen — for example, the one stretched across your window, or the piece of cloth on which movies are projected at the theater.”
Today’s form: haiku
Today’s device: alliteration
